DESCRIPTION:The Faux Paws have a problem. They’re a triangle band in a land of circles. Musically impossible to describe\, they don’t even fit into todays often hyphenated-genre world. No fan\, industry expert\, nor member of the band can seem to sum up this band’s sound in any kind of marketable way. They continue to remain a singularly unique outfit in the acoustic music community\, always on the fringes\, always memorable and with an increasing number of die-hard fans who feel like they’ve uncovered a secret. \nIs it bluegrass? Not usually. Old-time? Occasionally. Is it Celtic? Can’t quite say that. Is it Folk? Americana? Jazz? Singer-songwriter? None of the above\, but members of the Paws have deep ties to all of these traditions and blend their elements effortlessly to serve whatever musical idea is being presented. \nA Faux Paws live show is an explosive roller coaster ride that brings the audience along. Virtuosity on the fiddle\, mandolin\, guitar and saxophone\, sure\, but also vulnerability\, personal lyrics\, tight 3-part brother harmonies\, playful interplay\, intricately arranged details and soaring improvisations.

DESCRIPTION:An American Classic – one of our absolute favorite artists! \n“I try to take things I love and use them in a new way\,” said triple Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Peter Case of his 16th solo album Doctor Moan. Case brings his considerable songwriting ability to an 11-song collection\, largely performed on piano\, including his first solo ecorded instrumental. Released by Sunset Blvd Records\, Case’s piano-based songs are emotionally\, sonically and stylistically rich. \nAs a founding member of of the early punk era trip The Nerves\, in 1977 Case toured the nation sharing bills with The Ramones\, Mink DeVille\, Pere Ubu\, and Devo.  The Nerves single “Hanging on the Telephone\,” was covered by Blondie. In 1979\, Case formed the Plimsouls\, a record-breaking live act in California\, recording albums for Planet/Elektra and Geffen. Th independent single\, “A Million Miles Away\,” entered the Billboard charts and remains a garage rock standard\, performed by bands around the world. The band performed in the cult classic film Valley Girl and the Nerves and Plimsouls timeless teenage rock ‘n’ roll continues to appeal fans of each new generation. \nAfter The Plimsouls\, Case rediscovered his musical roots on his self-titled solo debut\, produced by T-Bone Burnett.  The New York Times declared Peter Case the best album of 1986.  It earned a five-star Rolling Stone review and a Grammy nomination. As one of the first songwriters of his generation to turn from rock music toward an acoustic sound\, Case also helped usher in whal became known as Americana music.

SUMMARY:ZAN FISKUM and Band
DESCRIPTION:ZAN is an americana singer-songwriter raised in the small town of Maple Valley\, WA where she spent most of her time either running barefoot in the forest or volunteering with her family at a local dinner theater. Her angelic voice soars over her soulful and ethereal storytelling. Reminiscent of artists Hozier and Lana Del Rey\, she blends the lines between adult contemporary and americana/folk. She made her national debut on season 18 of NBC’s The Voice finishing as a top 9 finalist which spearheaded her two self released records with over 3 million digital streams. ZAN has gone on to tour nationally and open for The Avett Brothers\, King Fish\, Mon Rovia\, and Prateek Kudah as well as share the stage with John Legend\, Dave Mathews\, and more. \nZAN released her second record in February of 2023. Showcasing her range this project beautifully exposes her maturity not only as a songwriter and vocalist but also as an individual as she conveys the stories of her life with resilience and grit. While staying true to her folk/pop songwriting she incorporates sounds of soul\, dream pop\, world percussion and indie rock into her music. \nThis project features incredible collaborations with artists like award-winning composer/violinist Andrew Joslyn (Seattle Symphony\, Head And The Heart\, Kesha)\, Dan Walker – keyboards (Heart)\, Jacob Miller\, and Alec Shaw and is sure to captivate both fans and artists for years to come. \nZAN’s debut album\, “Sleeping Problems” brings together her love for atmospheric and orchestral arrangements\, alongside indie pop production and songwriting. Despite being released in the midst of a global pandemic the album made outstanding strides forward; She performed her single\, “You Are The Light ” for over 1.2 million people on New Years at The Needle (KING 5 News) catching the attention of hall of fame DJ Marco Collins who aired it on his show at KEXP. In July of 2021 ZAN and her band took the stage for their first time at The Triple Door\, maxing out ticket sales and leaving many of her audience members in tears.

DESCRIPTION:As a kid\, Raines often traveled with her family to festivals in Baltimore and Washington\, D.C.\, the beating heart of bluegrass in the 1960s and 70s. She’d dabbled in piano and guitar\, but when her father bought a bass for himself when she was 10\, she picked it up and never let it go. (The same bass is still her primary instrument now.) She started performing as a young teenager\, and since then she’s played with some of the greats across several generations: Mac Wiseman\, Kenny Baker\, Eddie Adcock\, Bobby Osborne\, Alison Brown\, Bill Evans\, Laurie Lewis\, and Claire Lynch\, to name a few. In her 40s\, she took on the mantle of bandleader\, cementing her own legacy in the bluegrass world. \nIn 1998\, she became the first woman to win IBMA’s Bass Player of the Year award\, and she’s won that title another nine times since\, as well as IBMA awards for collaborative projects with a wide range of her bluegrass peers and a Grammy nomination for her 2018 album\, Royal Traveller. Her stature and her sparkle made her a well-received host of the 2024 IBMA Bluegrass Music Awards show alongside fellow bassist John Cowan. \nLove & Trouble\, Raines’ latest album with her band Allegheny\, offers views from the highest peaks of her native West Virginia and from the deepest hollers of heartbreak. The 10 songs come to life with people\, places\, and stories that have caught her heart during her five-decade journey in bluegrass and beyond.

DESCRIPTION:Jacob Jolliff is one of the world’s premier contemporary mandolinists. In 2011\, he graduated from Berklee College of Music\, having studied there on a full scholarship. The following year\, in 2012\, he won the USA’s National Mandolin Championship in Winfield\, KS. \nA fixture of the bluegrass scene\, he has performed and collaborated with Béla Fleck\, Tony Trischka\, Michael Daves\, Grant Gordy\, Wes Corbett\, and Alex Hargreaves\, to name a few. Additionally\, throughout his 20s\, he toured as a member of the groups Joy Kills Sorrow and Yonder Mountain String Band. \nCurrently\, his focus is on his own ensemble\, The Jacob Jolliff Band—one of the most cutting-edge progressive bluegrass groups on the scene today. They’ve released three albums\, the most recent of which\, “Instrumentals\, Vol. 2: Mandolin Mysteries\,” dropped in May 2024. The band plays a combination of complex original instrumental music and vocal repertoire that spans from trad bluegrass to unlikely pop covers. Improvisation and the ensemble interplay are at the forefront.

DESCRIPTION:SUMMER CONCERT SERIES\non The Patio at WIT Cellars \nIf you’ve ever asked the question:\nWhat would happen if a bunch of top-notch blues musicians from Brazil decided to cover some Beatles tunes?\n \nHere’s your answer.  Blues Beatles’ captivating performances make them an “instant sensation” everywhere they go\, touring worldwide in Brazil\, the United States\, and Europe! Blues Beatles started during the breaks of the rehearsals of Today – an original band that Marcos Viana\, Flavio Naves\, Lancaster Ferreira\, Bruno Falcão and Fred Barley started in 2010. Marcos\, the singer\, would invariably pick up his acoustic guitar and start playing Beatles songs. The other members of the band were amazed at how natural the songs sounded\, as if he had written them himself. The reason for this was that Marcos really identified with the songs and never imitated John or Paul. He simply sang with his own voice and from his heart. Being blues players the rest of the band started adding their blues twist to these “break songs”. One day Lancaster said: “why don’t we mix these two things we love to play? We could call this Blues Beatles!”Everyone loved the idea and together they started the Blues Beatles in 2013. DESCRIPTION:From his early days as a solo artist\, and then as a member of Banner Days  (who appeared a time or two at Brewminatti)\, Bradford has been a pretty unique performer…an old soul with a big voice and a bigger heart.  Yet\, his songwriting is personal\, introspective\, narrative heavy and powerful.  His bio says “Drawing from the storytelling of Bruce Springsteen\, Iron and Wine and Jason Isbell\, and pairing it with the soulful delivery of Chris Stapleton\, Marc Broussard and Shawn James\, Bradford has created a unique style he calls Rhythm & Roots. Grit and melody marry roots and soul.”  This is a great summation of a Bradford Loomis show.  We met him when he lived in Yakima\, before he moved to Nashville\, and we’re always happy to have come home for a visit.
