SUMMARY:Elder Shines
DESCRIPTION:NOTE: We posted the wrong date for this show – it will be November 4th\, not the 3rd. Sorry for confusion. \nThey played for us earlier this year and BLEW US AWAY!  Amazing combination of good blues songs\, great guitar licks and high energy harmonica.  If you didn’t catch them the first time\, put this on your list of things to do.  If you did see them the first time – we’ll likely see you again.

SUMMARY:EILEN JEWELL w/ special guest Nick Delffs
DESCRIPTION:THRILLED to have Eilen back at Brewminatti.  Hailed by American Songwriter as one of Americas most intriguing\, creative\, and idiosyncratic voices\, Eilen Jewell rises from the ashes on her captivating new album\, Get Behind The Wheel\, picking up the pieces of her shattered world and finding new purpose and meaning after watching her marriage\, her band\, and what felt like her entire career fall apart in a series of spectacular\, heartbreaking implosions. Co produced by multi instrumental wizard Will Kimbrough (Todd Snider\, Hayes Carll)\, the collection pushes the acclaimed singer and songwriters trademark blend of vintage roots noir into more psychedelic territory\, with spacious\, cinematic arrangements complementing her revelatory explorations of grief\, loss\, resilience\, and redemption.

SUMMARY:Laurie Lewis
DESCRIPTION:A Legend. \nHer voice is a rare combination of grit and grace\, strength and delicacy. Her stories always ring true. – Linda Ronstadt \nI’m so proud of this track Laurie Lewis and I recorded for her upcoming album. She is one of my earliest heroes and influences\, which I think you can hear in the way our voices blend together. Singing with her is always the biggest honor. – Molly Tuttle \nLaurie Lewis is one of my favorite fiddlers and one of the most all around inspiring musicians and people. She’s one of those musicians that sounds so authentically herself while simultaneously expressing universal emotions and the environmental concerns we all face. I wouldn’t be playing the music I play if it weren’t for Laurie Lewis. – Tatiana Hargreaves \nHere’s a fun one…

SUMMARY:The Bros. Landreth
DESCRIPTION:The Bros. Landreth welcome a new day with Come Morning\, an album that marks both a rebirth and refinement of the JUNO-winning band’s blend of North American roots music and harmony-heavy soul. \nThe most immersive\, emotive record of the Landreths’ career\, Come Morning finds brothers Joey and Dave lacing their melody-driven songs with layers of atmospheric synth\, organ\, and textured guitar. The group’s previous albums shone a light on their strength as a live act\, capturing the spontaneity and sonic stomp ofa band of hard-touring road warriors. If those records unfolded like snapshots of The Bros. Landreth’s nighttime shows\, then Come Morning sketches a markedly different picture\, showcasing the introspection and clarity that comes from a long (post-covid) period of rest. \nFor Joey and Dave\, rest wasn’t always an easy thing to find. After pursuing separate careers as sidemen\, they launched The Bros. Landreth with 2013’sLet It Lie\, a debut album that drew upon the shared soundtrack of their childhood —Bonnie Raitt’s blues\, Little Feat’s funky country-rock\, Ry Cooder’s eclectic instrumentals\, Lyle Lovett’s twangy traditionalism —for a sound that saluted the past while planting its flag firmly in the present. Let It Lie was a hit on both sides of the Atlantic\, winning the2015 JUNO Award for “Roots & Traditional Album Of The Year -Group\,” earning The Bros. Landreth a nomination for “International Artist of the Year” at the 2016 UK Americana Music Awards\, and receiving praise from heroes like Bonnie Raitt. Years of near-constant touring in support of its release left the brothers exhausted\, however\, and the band took a three-year break before regrouping for 2019’s ’87.

SUMMARY:Clem Snide
DESCRIPTION:We hold a special place in our heart for singer-songwriters – those folks who stand up on stage with nothing but a microphone and a guitar (usually\, but not always) and publicly discuss life’s ups and downs\, it’s victories and defeats all intertwined within deep\, emotive lyrics and engaging melodies. \nNamed for a William S. Borroughs character\, Clem Snide first emerged from Boston as a three-piece in the early 1990’s\, and the group would go on to become a cult and critical favorite\, picking up high profile fans from Bon Iver to Ben Folds over the course of three decades and more than a dozen studio albums. NPR highlighted the Israeli-born Eef Barzelay as “the most underrated songwriter in the business today\, with a sneakily firm grasp on poignancy and humor\,” while Rolling Stone hailed his songwriting as “soulful and incisive\,” and The New Yorker praised his music’s “soothing melodies and candid wit.”

SUMMARY:Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys
DESCRIPTION:ANOTHER AMAZING NIGHT on THE PATIO @ WIT CELLARS! \nSince forming in 1988 in Southern California\, Big Sandy and His Fly-Rite Boys have become one of the world’s most beloved Americana/Roots acts\, drawing from the deep musical waters that flow just beneath the surface of Rock & Roll’s fertile soil. A childhood passion for Country\, Doo-Wop\, and Rhythm & Blues 45s led Sandy (born Robert Williams) to pursue a singing career as a teenager\, beginning a life in music that continues decades later. And as his personal record collection continues to grow (75\,000 and counting)\, so does the depth of the musical influences that stream through his songwriting and singing style A critically acclaimed tribute to Tex-Mex hero Freddy Fender\, released at the beginning of the 2020 lockdown\, points the way forward for Big Sandy and His Fly-Rite Boys as they continue on a path of musical growth. After nearly 35 years on the road\, and more than two dozen releases to their credit\, they remain key figures on the ever-changing Americana circuit\, both on record and in live appearances. \nMENU: by The Prosser House \nMeatloaf with mushroom gravy  – Served with mashed potatoes and veggies!  \nHerb-Lemon baked chicken with mashed potatoes and veggies  \nBratwurst & Pork belly spicy corn and mashed potatoes

SUMMARY:Amy Lavere & Will Sexton
DESCRIPTION:This is one of those shows that we probably don’t deserve…but so happy to get. \nAmy Lavere is a highly respected singer / songwriter / performer.  Besides Will Sexton\, she is a frequent collaborator with:\n– Luther Dickinson (North Mississippi All-Stars)\, Valerie June\, Shannon McNally\, Allison Russell\, Amy Helm and so many other amazing musicians.  Her recording catalog is papered with critical acclaim and she is an accomplished performer\, known the world over. \nHer most frequent collaborator (and husband) – Will Sexton – is Texas guitar legend. The San Antonio born Sexton was a musical prodigy who as a child moved to Austin\, coming of age in the city’s hothouse environment.  Over the past three decades\, Sexton has grown into a skilled musical polymath: an esteemed writer\, producer\, session player\, and solo artist. He grew up playing with the likes of Doug Sahm\, Joe Ely\, Roky Erickson and Stevie Ray Vaughan.  He’s laid down studio tracks for an impressive number of popular performers – and he shares writing credits with Waylon Jennings\, Joy Ely and Stephen Stills…just to name a few. \nBot together – Amy & Will make some incredible music which\, like I say\, we probably don’t deserve\, but we are SO happy to get.

SUMMARY:SOLD OUT !!! Dale Watson & The Lonestars
DESCRIPTION:Dale has flown the flag for classic honky-tonk for over two decades. He’s christened his brand of American roots “Ameripolitan” to differentiate it from current crop of Nashville-based pop country. The Alabama-born\, Texas-raised Watson may be the hardest working entertainer today and is rapidly approaching legendary status.  He is a country music maverick\, a true outlaw who stands alongside Waylon Jennings\, Willie Nelson\, and George Strait as one of the finest country singers and songwriters from the Lone Star State. \nDubbed “the silver pompadoured\, baritone beltin’\, Lone Star beer drinkin’\, honky-tonk hellraiser” by The Austin Chronicle\, Watson emceed the first ever SXSW “Ameripolitan” showcase featuring the best of Honky-tonk\, Outlaw Country\, Rockabilly and Texas Swing music.

SUMMARY:A.J. Fullerton
DESCRIPTION:It’s possible you may not have heard of A.J. Fullerton.  We aim to remedy that..and for good reason.  In 2021\, Blues Muse Magazine included him on a list of “75 Modern Blues & Rock Artists You Must Hear.”  Also on the list…Joe Bonamassa\, Kenny Wayne Shepherd\, Curtis Salgado\, Sonny Landreth…I mean…it just goes on and on.  His mostly acoustic playing has caused him to be mentioned in the same category as Ry Cooder.  He’s made a big name for himself in his home state of Colorado – where the Colorado Blues Society has recognized him for: \n– Young Performer (2016)\n  – Best Guitarist (2017) (2021)\n– Best Solo/Duo ( 2016\, 2017\, 2018\, 2019\, 2021)\n– Best Band (2017\, 2021)\n– Best Male Vocals (2017\, 2021)\n– Best Slide Guitar (2016 2017\, 2018\, 2019)\n– Best Songwriter (2017\, 2021)\n– Best Acoustic Act  (2017\, 2018\, 2021)\n– Best Local Recording  [“Kalamath”] (2017)\n– Best Local Recording [“Forgiver & The Runway”] (2021) \nHe’s expanding his footprint and we’re excited to have him play for us in Prosser. \nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzYKXNScZfs&embeds_widget_referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ajfullerton.com%2F&embeds_euri=https%3A%2F%2Fcdn.embedly.com%2F&embeds_origin=https%3A%2F%2Fcdn.embedly.com&feature=emb_logo

SUMMARY:Soul Vaccination
DESCRIPTION:Unfortunately\, Drivin’ n Cryin’ had part of their tour fall through\, which meant they couldn’t make it the west coast.  We decided it would be difficult to try and replace one of the best\, legendary southern blues bands in the world\, so we went an entirely different direction! \nAnd we are THRILLED to announce that STILL on July 28\, at The Vines@Wit Cellars\, we will get to enjoy one of the tightest Funk & Soul Bands in the PNW. As the Rose City’s favorite\, Soul Vax infuses the stage with the greatest soul standards and great original tunes\, and has been a fixture in the Northwest music scene for over 20 years. \nThis high energy 12 piece band features Brian Harris on Hammond B-3 and keyboards\, along with the precision guitar playing of Mike Doolin. On bass\, is Grammy nominated producer John Linn\, and on drums is Ron Tuttle\, always bringin’ the funk and groovin’ hard. Portland’s own Regina K\, and Mark Wyatt share their soulful vocal styles. Lewis Livermore and Dave Mills carry the backbone sound of the Soul Vax horns on trumpets\, with Ron Regan\, Gary Harris\, & Timothy Bryson on saxophones. \nBe prepared to put on your Boogie Shoes! \nNOTE:  2 ticket types available:  Admission only or admission with 5 drink tix.  This option will save you time so you can get that first tasty beverage in your hand!

SUMMARY:The Barefoot Movement
DESCRIPTION:The Barefoot Movement integrate bluegrass\, blues\, folk\, rock\, country and pop into music that’s delightfully fresh. Shows feature original songs and reimagined cover tunes with tight three-part harmonies and hot instrumentals. \n“They perform barefoot\, yes\, but what you’ll remember is how the music moved you. Lead singer Noah Wall’s voice can blast you backward as well as pull you in\, and the rest of the band has the harmonies and instrumental chops to support that ride.” — News & Observer \nThey’ve been with us twice before – but always a treat to have them back!

SUMMARY:Smokey Brights
DESCRIPTION:Smokey Brights is a story of love and pizza. Husband and wife duo Ryan Devlin and Kim West first met slinging pies at a south Seattle restaurant in their early 20s. Devlin\, a fixture in the Northwest’s DIY rock scene\, and West\, an aspiring law student\, started writing and recording songs in Devlin’s bedroom during a cash-strapped Christmas as their friendship blossomed into romance. Pulling from their mutual love of 70s rock\, vintage synthesizers\, thrift store treasures\, and early MYV\, the pair’s bond permeated their songcraft. \nThe duo\, joined by drummer Nick Krivchenia and bassist Luke Ragnar\, create a stoney blend of Northwest rock & roll and razor-sharp disco grooves that Impose Magazine calls “a modern bit of AM radio gold.” \n“SMOKEY BRIGHTS ARE THE BEST BAND IN SEATTLE RIGHT NOW.”\nSTEVEN GRAHAM\, 107.7 THE END

SUMMARY:Peter Case
DESCRIPTION:“I try to take things I love and use them in a new way\,” said triple Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Peter Case of his 16th solo album Doctor Moan. Case brings his considerable songwriting ability to an 11-song collection\, largely performed on piano\, including his first solo recorded instrumental. Released by Sunset Blvd Records on March 31\, Case’s piano-based songs are emotionally\, sonically and stylistically rich. As a founding member of the early punk era trio The Nerves\, in 1977 Case toured the nation sharing bills with the Ramones\, Mink DeVille\, Pere Ubu\, and Devo. The Nerves single “Hanging on the Telephone\,” was covered by Blondie. In 1979\, Case formed the Plimsouls\, a record-breaking live act in California\, recording albums for Planet/Elektra and Geffen. Their independent single\, “A Million Miles Away\,” entered the Billboard charts and remains a garage rock standard\, performed by bands around the world. The band performed in the cult classic film Valley Girl and the Nerves and Plimsouls timeless teenage rock ‘n’ roll continues to appeal to fans of each new generation. After the Plimsouls\, Case rediscovered his musical roots on his self-titled solo debut\, produced by T Bone Burnett. The New York Times declared Peter Case the best album of 1986. It earned a five-star Rolling Stone review and a Grammy nomination. As one of the first songwriters of his generation to turn from rock music toward an acoustic sound\, Case also helped usher in what became known as Americana music.

DESCRIPTION:Ben Rice’s original music blends Soul\, Delta-Blues\, Rockabilly\, Jazz\, and Funk into a Roots Stew. Influenced heavily by his parents record collection\, from Al Green to Alice Cooper\, Teddy Pendergrass to Marshall Tucker. \nAs a performer Ben looks to the greats for inspiration and is always striving to connect with the audience through his music and stories. SUMMARY:Cory Branan
DESCRIPTION:The music of Cory Branan is like a magazine anthology that rivets you; you’re always thrilled to get to the next story because it will be different\, unexpected\, and galvanic. “Why limit myself to a certain genre? My style is limited by liking to tell stories. But whatever the song wants to wear is fine with me. Over the years\, if I had done one thing\, I’d have more than a modest career now. But if I had to stand there and play acoustic singer songwriter music all the time\, I’d be bored out of my mind. I love all these different styles and sounds\, I’m restless like that.” \n“…a career stacked with lonesome country anthems to life on the road\, delivered in a voice that’s pleasantly weathered.” – NPR \nBranan’s songs have been covered by such artists as Frank Turner and Dashboard Confessional. He has also collaborated with the likes of Jason Isbell\, Laura Jane Grace (Against Me!)\, and Craig Finn (The Hold Steady)who have been included as featured guests on previous records. Branan has even been mentioned in the Lucero song\, “Tears Don’t Matter Much” with the lyrics\, “Cory Branan’s got an evil streak\, and a way with words that’ll bring you to your knees.” \n“It’s rad”\, says Branan\, “to have a new home with nice folks at Blue Èlan who’ve threatened to turn me loose to make my kind of weird American music\, and I’m really looking forward to getting into the studio this fall and giving it hell.”

On his 5th record\, Motivational Speakeasy\, he Breaks it down to just his voice and acoustic guitar for a collection of music that is while deeply informed by the rich history of American folk music\, forward-thinking and modern in its conceit. Produced by Kenneth Pattengale (of The Milk Carton Kids)\, Motivational Speakeasy contains evidence of a variety of influences. \nFolk fans might recognize Jordan Tice as a member of the instrumental bluegrass supergroup Hawktail\, as well as his sideman work with many other artists in the folk/Americana genre such as Dave Rawlings\, Andrew Marlin of Mandolin Orange\, Yola\, and comedian Steve Martin. \n \nAllison and Tatiana are both leaders in the young generation of roots musicians\, de Groot being known for intricate clawhammer banjo work with Bruce Molsky\, and Hargreaves bringing powerhouse fiddling to the stage with Laurie Lewis and David Rawlings in addition to teaching bluegrass fiddle at UNC-Chapel Hill. Their first self-titled album released in 2019 garnered attention from CBC Q\, Paste Magazine and Rolling Stone Country\, earning the duo the Independent Music Awards “Best Bluegrass Album” and a nomination from IBMA for “Best Liner Notes of the Year.” The duo has been booked at festivals and venues such as Newport Folk Festival\, Savannah Music Festival\, Winnipeg Folk Festival\, the Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh\, NC\, and Red Wing Roots Music Festival. Allison de Groot & Tatiana Hargreaves create a sound that is adventurous\, masterful\, and original\, as they expand on the eccentricities of old songs\, while never losing sight of what makes them endure.

SUMMARY:Hillstomp
DESCRIPTION:Hillstomp is a 2-man band comprised of Henry Hill Kammerer and John Johnson. Henry plays guitar and banjo like a hurricane\, and if you close your eyes you’d swear he’s playing 2 parts at once. John Johnson beats mercilessly on his drums\, with the fury of a demon loose from hell. Once you get past the pure ferocity of his playing\, you notice the parts are intricately crafted patterns that provide the framework for Kammerer’s guitar and banjo sorcery. \nHillstomp sounds like a boom box blasting from a shopping cart. Two madmen have strapped an engine to the cart and it’s too big and running too hot. They’ve got a banjo and a megaphone\, a washboard and a kick drum. They’ve stocked the cart with guitars\, buckets\, car parts\, and microphones and they are hurtling towards a blown out bridge while the bad front wheel flaps manically. The fools think they can jump the bridge and land safely on the other side. They are very wrong but no one has told them because…well\, they just seem so happy. And there you are\, bouncing alongside them and deep down you hope they make it. Hillstomp is folk music in its purest form – from loud and gritty\, to intricate and poignant\, and most importantly\, always heartfelt and true.
