SUMMARY:The Lonesome Ace Stringband
DESCRIPTION:Masters of their trade\, The Lonesome Ace Stringband bring grit\, skill and abandon to Americana music\, bridging old-time\, bluegrass and folk traditions into a seamless hybrid of original material that is at once fresh and timeless. \nInstrumentation alone sets this Toronto-based trio’s sound apart: consisting simply of fiddle (John Showman)\, clawhammer banjo (Chris Coole)\, and upright bass (Max Heineman).  The spine-tingling harmonies and interchanging lead vocals only bring more magic to the equation. They’ve become festival favourites at Rockygrass\, Celtic Connections\, Winnipeg Folk Festival\, Merlefest and regularly tour the USA\, UK\, Germany and\, of course\, Canada. \nWith more than a decade of group music-making under their belts\, they’re releasing their fifth album\, a feisty and mighty collection of all-original material titled ‘Try To Make It Fly’ (October 13\, 2023). \nCall Lonesome Ace Stringband whatever genre you want – they are just unorthodox enough to be brilliant.

SUMMARY:The Young Dubliners
DESCRIPTION:THIS WILL BE DOPE!! \nAfter thirty years as one of the world’s leading Celtic Rock bands\, The Young Dubliners have begun work on their tenth studio album while still maintaining their busy tour schedule.  Having survived the crushing impact of the lockdown on their industry they have returned stronger than ever and determined to bring their fusion of Celtic and rock music to as many people as they can. \nWith a solid line up\, a new batch of songs and the help of their new agency\, Skyline\, The YD are excited to bring live music back into festivals\, theaters and clubs around the world. “We want to be the band who reminds the world how important a good gig can be to our sanity after what we’ve all been through” says Roberts. \nIn recent years the Young Dubs have appeared twice on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live\, had songs featured in TV shows (Sons Of Anarchy\, Human Target) and toured extensively as a headliner and as the opener for such a diverse list of artists as Collective Soul\, Jethro Tull\, Johnny Lang\, Los Lobos\, Chris Isaak and many more \n“Their sound defies categorization. The Young Dubliners can be seen as Ireland’s answer to Los Lobos\, with a similar combination of traditional folk music\, raucous electric rock\, and forward-thinking experimentation.” Allmusic.com

SUMMARY:The Steel Wheels
DESCRIPTION:The Steel Wheels have long been at home in the creative space between tradition and innovation\, informed by the familiar sounds of the Virginia mountains where the band was formed\, but always moving forward with insightful lyrics and an evolving sound. In 2005\, Jay Lapp (vocals\, guitars\, mandolin) and Eric Brubaker (vocals\, fiddle) joined lead singer Trent Wagler (guitar\, banjo) in forming the band as a vehicle for Wagler’s songwriting. They released several albums under Wagler’s moniker\, before officially adopting the The Steel Wheels name with the 2010 release of Red Wing. Quickly staking their claim as independent upstarts in the burgeoning Americana scene\, The Steel Wheels followed up this release with three more self-produced albums in the next five years\, before joining forces with producer Sam Kassirer for Wild As We Came Here (2017) and Over The Trees (2019). Kevin Garcia (drums\, percussion\, keys) joined in 2017\, bringing a new level of sonic depth and polish to the outfit. Newest member Jeremy Darrow rounds out the rhythm section and grounds the band as they continue to explore deeply rooted yet fresh folk rock sounds.  Having gained the experience of thousands of shows\, festivals and many miles on the road\, the stubbornly independent band has formed deep bonds with each other and the audience that sustains them. \nHere’s a little taster…

SUMMARY:Elder Shines
DESCRIPTION:NOTE: We posted the wrong date for this show – it will be November 4th\, not the 3rd. Sorry for confusion. \nThey played for us earlier this year and BLEW US AWAY!  Amazing combination of good blues songs\, great guitar licks and high energy harmonica.  If you didn’t catch them the first time\, put this on your list of things to do.  If you did see them the first time – we’ll likely see you again.

SUMMARY:EILEN JEWELL w/ special guest Nick Delffs
DESCRIPTION:THRILLED to have Eilen back at Brewminatti.  Hailed by American Songwriter as one of Americas most intriguing\, creative\, and idiosyncratic voices\, Eilen Jewell rises from the ashes on her captivating new album\, Get Behind The Wheel\, picking up the pieces of her shattered world and finding new purpose and meaning after watching her marriage\, her band\, and what felt like her entire career fall apart in a series of spectacular\, heartbreaking implosions. Co produced by multi instrumental wizard Will Kimbrough (Todd Snider\, Hayes Carll)\, the collection pushes the acclaimed singer and songwriters trademark blend of vintage roots noir into more psychedelic territory\, with spacious\, cinematic arrangements complementing her revelatory explorations of grief\, loss\, resilience\, and redemption.

SUMMARY:Laurie Lewis
DESCRIPTION:A Legend. \nHer voice is a rare combination of grit and grace\, strength and delicacy. Her stories always ring true. – Linda Ronstadt \nI’m so proud of this track Laurie Lewis and I recorded for her upcoming album. She is one of my earliest heroes and influences\, which I think you can hear in the way our voices blend together. Singing with her is always the biggest honor. – Molly Tuttle \nLaurie Lewis is one of my favorite fiddlers and one of the most all around inspiring musicians and people. She’s one of those musicians that sounds so authentically herself while simultaneously expressing universal emotions and the environmental concerns we all face. I wouldn’t be playing the music I play if it weren’t for Laurie Lewis. – Tatiana Hargreaves \nHere’s a fun one…

SUMMARY:The Bros. Landreth
DESCRIPTION:The Bros. Landreth welcome a new day with Come Morning\, an album that marks both a rebirth and refinement of the JUNO-winning band’s blend of North American roots music and harmony-heavy soul. \nThe most immersive\, emotive record of the Landreths’ career\, Come Morning finds brothers Joey and Dave lacing their melody-driven songs with layers of atmospheric synth\, organ\, and textured guitar. The group’s previous albums shone a light on their strength as a live act\, capturing the spontaneity and sonic stomp ofa band of hard-touring road warriors. If those records unfolded like snapshots of The Bros. Landreth’s nighttime shows\, then Come Morning sketches a markedly different picture\, showcasing the introspection and clarity that comes from a long (post-covid) period of rest. \nFor Joey and Dave\, rest wasn’t always an easy thing to find. After pursuing separate careers as sidemen\, they launched The Bros. Landreth with 2013’sLet It Lie\, a debut album that drew upon the shared soundtrack of their childhood —Bonnie Raitt’s blues\, Little Feat’s funky country-rock\, Ry Cooder’s eclectic instrumentals\, Lyle Lovett’s twangy traditionalism —for a sound that saluted the past while planting its flag firmly in the present. Let It Lie was a hit on both sides of the Atlantic\, winning the2015 JUNO Award for “Roots & Traditional Album Of The Year -Group\,” earning The Bros. Landreth a nomination for “International Artist of the Year” at the 2016 UK Americana Music Awards\, and receiving praise from heroes like Bonnie Raitt. Years of near-constant touring in support of its release left the brothers exhausted\, however\, and the band took a three-year break before regrouping for 2019’s ’87.

SUMMARY:Clem Snide
DESCRIPTION:We hold a special place in our heart for singer-songwriters – those folks who stand up on stage with nothing but a microphone and a guitar (usually\, but not always) and publicly discuss life’s ups and downs\, it’s victories and defeats all intertwined within deep\, emotive lyrics and engaging melodies. \nNamed for a William S. Borroughs character\, Clem Snide first emerged from Boston as a three-piece in the early 1990’s\, and the group would go on to become a cult and critical favorite\, picking up high profile fans from Bon Iver to Ben Folds over the course of three decades and more than a dozen studio albums. NPR highlighted the Israeli-born Eef Barzelay as “the most underrated songwriter in the business today\, with a sneakily firm grasp on poignancy and humor\,” while Rolling Stone hailed his songwriting as “soulful and incisive\,” and The New Yorker praised his music’s “soothing melodies and candid wit.”

SUMMARY:Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys
DESCRIPTION:ANOTHER AMAZING NIGHT on THE PATIO @ WIT CELLARS! \nSince forming in 1988 in Southern California\, Big Sandy and His Fly-Rite Boys have become one of the world’s most beloved Americana/Roots acts\, drawing from the deep musical waters that flow just beneath the surface of Rock & Roll’s fertile soil. A childhood passion for Country\, Doo-Wop\, and Rhythm & Blues 45s led Sandy (born Robert Williams) to pursue a singing career as a teenager\, beginning a life in music that continues decades later. And as his personal record collection continues to grow (75\,000 and counting)\, so does the depth of the musical influences that stream through his songwriting and singing style A critically acclaimed tribute to Tex-Mex hero Freddy Fender\, released at the beginning of the 2020 lockdown\, points the way forward for Big Sandy and His Fly-Rite Boys as they continue on a path of musical growth. After nearly 35 years on the road\, and more than two dozen releases to their credit\, they remain key figures on the ever-changing Americana circuit\, both on record and in live appearances. \nMENU: by The Prosser House \nMeatloaf with mushroom gravy  – Served with mashed potatoes and veggies!  \nHerb-Lemon baked chicken with mashed potatoes and veggies  \nBratwurst & Pork belly spicy corn and mashed potatoes

SUMMARY:Amy Lavere & Will Sexton
DESCRIPTION:This is one of those shows that we probably don’t deserve…but so happy to get. \nAmy Lavere is a highly respected singer / songwriter / performer.  Besides Will Sexton\, she is a frequent collaborator with:\n– Luther Dickinson (North Mississippi All-Stars)\, Valerie June\, Shannon McNally\, Allison Russell\, Amy Helm and so many other amazing musicians.  Her recording catalog is papered with critical acclaim and she is an accomplished performer\, known the world over. \nHer most frequent collaborator (and husband) – Will Sexton – is Texas guitar legend. The San Antonio born Sexton was a musical prodigy who as a child moved to Austin\, coming of age in the city’s hothouse environment.  Over the past three decades\, Sexton has grown into a skilled musical polymath: an esteemed writer\, producer\, session player\, and solo artist. He grew up playing with the likes of Doug Sahm\, Joe Ely\, Roky Erickson and Stevie Ray Vaughan.  He’s laid down studio tracks for an impressive number of popular performers – and he shares writing credits with Waylon Jennings\, Joy Ely and Stephen Stills…just to name a few. \nBot together – Amy & Will make some incredible music which\, like I say\, we probably don’t deserve\, but we are SO happy to get.

SUMMARY:A.J. Fullerton
DESCRIPTION:It’s possible you may not have heard of A.J. Fullerton.  We aim to remedy that..and for good reason.  In 2021\, Blues Muse Magazine included him on a list of “75 Modern Blues & Rock Artists You Must Hear.”  Also on the list…Joe Bonamassa\, Kenny Wayne Shepherd\, Curtis Salgado\, Sonny Landreth…I mean…it just goes on and on.  His mostly acoustic playing has caused him to be mentioned in the same category as Ry Cooder.  He’s made a big name for himself in his home state of Colorado – where the Colorado Blues Society has recognized him for: \n– Young Performer (2016)\n  – Best Guitarist (2017) (2021)\n– Best Solo/Duo ( 2016\, 2017\, 2018\, 2019\, 2021)\n– Best Band (2017\, 2021)\n– Best Male Vocals (2017\, 2021)\n– Best Slide Guitar (2016 2017\, 2018\, 2019)\n– Best Songwriter (2017\, 2021)\n– Best Acoustic Act  (2017\, 2018\, 2021)\n– Best Local Recording  [“Kalamath”] (2017)\n– Best Local Recording [“Forgiver & The Runway”] (2021) \nHe’s expanding his footprint and we’re excited to have him play for us in Prosser. \nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzYKXNScZfs&embeds_widget_referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ajfullerton.com%2F&embeds_euri=https%3A%2F%2Fcdn.embedly.com%2F&embeds_origin=https%3A%2F%2Fcdn.embedly.com&feature=emb_logo

On bass\, is Grammy nominated producer John Linn\, and on drums is Ron Tuttle\, always bringin’ the funk and groovin’ hard. Portland’s own Regina K\, and Mark Wyatt share their soulful vocal styles. Lewis Livermore and Dave Mills carry the backbone sound of the Soul Vax horns on trumpets\, with Ron Regan\, Gary Harris\, & Timothy Bryson on saxophones. \nBe prepared to put on your Boogie Shoes! \nNOTE:  2 ticket types available:  Admission only or admission with 5 drink tix.  This option will save you time so you can get that first tasty beverage in your hand!

SUMMARY:The Barefoot Movement
DESCRIPTION:The Barefoot Movement integrate bluegrass\, blues\, folk\, rock\, country and pop into music that’s delightfully fresh. Shows feature original songs and reimagined cover tunes with tight three-part harmonies and hot instrumentals. \n“They perform barefoot\, yes\, but what you’ll remember is how the music moved you. Lead singer Noah Wall’s voice can blast you backward as well as pull you in\, and the rest of the band has the harmonies and instrumental chops to support that ride.” — News & Observer \nThey’ve been with us twice before – but always a treat to have them back!

SUMMARY:Smokey Brights
DESCRIPTION:Smokey Brights is a story of love and pizza. Husband and wife duo Ryan Devlin and Kim West first met slinging pies at a south Seattle restaurant in their early 20s. Devlin\, a fixture in the Northwest’s DIY rock scene\, and West\, an aspiring law student\, started writing and recording songs in Devlin’s bedroom during a cash-strapped Christmas as their friendship blossomed into romance. Pulling from their mutual love of 70s rock\, vintage synthesizers\, thrift store treasures\, and early MYV\, the pair’s bond permeated their songcraft. \nThe duo\, joined by drummer Nick Krivchenia and bassist Luke Ragnar\, create a stoney blend of Northwest rock & roll and razor-sharp disco grooves that Impose Magazine calls “a modern bit of AM radio gold.” \n“SMOKEY BRIGHTS ARE THE BEST BAND IN SEATTLE RIGHT NOW.”\nSTEVEN GRAHAM\, 107.7 THE END

SUMMARY:Peter Case
DESCRIPTION:“I try to take things I love and use them in a new way\,” said triple Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Peter Case of his 16th solo album Doctor Moan. Case brings his considerable songwriting ability to an 11-song collection\, largely performed on piano\, including his first solo recorded instrumental. Released by Sunset Blvd Records on March 31\, Case’s piano-based songs are emotionally\, sonically and stylistically rich. As a founding member of the early punk era trio The Nerves\, in 1977 Case toured the nation sharing bills with the Ramones\, Mink DeVille\, Pere Ubu\, and Devo. The Nerves single “Hanging on the Telephone\,” was covered by Blondie. In 1979\, Case formed the Plimsouls\, a record-breaking live act in California\, recording albums for Planet/Elektra and Geffen. Their independent single\, “A Million Miles Away\,” entered the Billboard charts and remains a garage rock standard\, performed by bands around the world. The band performed in the cult classic film Valley Girl and the Nerves and Plimsouls timeless teenage rock ‘n’ roll continues to appeal to fans of each new generation. After the Plimsouls\, Case rediscovered his musical roots on his self-titled solo debut\, produced by T Bone Burnett. The New York Times declared Peter Case the best album of 1986. It earned a five-star Rolling Stone review and a Grammy nomination. As one of the first songwriters of his generation to turn from rock music toward an acoustic sound\, Case also helped usher in what became known as Americana music.

SUMMARY:Tyron Benoit Band
DESCRIPTION:Tyron Benoit hails from Houma Louisiana\, where music and culture are plentiful.  His set list includes zydeco\, country\, new wave\, rock and whatever else he wants too play.  And it’s all good. \n“Growing up\, around the house\, I remember hearing a lot of classic country: George Jones\, Hank Williams (Sr. and Jr.)\, Merle Haggard\, Waylon Jennings\, and Ernest Tubb. Going to my grandpa’s house is where I think the Cajun and Folk influences came from. He was a fantastic fiddle and harmonica player. But when we left the house\, it was Led Zeppelin\, Toto\, and Steely Dan. Everybody was into classic rock and it was good!” \nA former Marine\, actor\, guitarist\, keyboardist\, accordion player\, singer\, and songwriter— Tyron released his debut album\, “Waitin’ On Friday\,”  on May 27\, 2022. The album was produced by Grammy-nominated\, Oscar-winner Donald Markowitz\,  and features guitarist Shane Theriot (Hall and Oates\, Neville Brothers\, Willie Nelson)\, drummer Doug Belote (Zachary Richard\, Maria Muldaur\, Jerry Douglas)  \, keyboardist David Torkanowsky (Rickie Lee Jones\, Sonny Landreth\, Bobby Rush)\, and bassist Kevin Scott (Bernard Purdie\, Eddie Roberts\, Nate Wood). \nWe’re doing this show on the patio at WIT Cellars – ’cause it’s just too hard to sit still while Tyron’s playing.  We will ALSO be featuring “special New Orleans-style dishes” prepared by Chef John Gray and the staff from The Prosser House.  (ticket choices include both a dinner or no dinner option)

SUMMARY:Rachel Baiman
DESCRIPTION:Rachel’s last show at Brewminatti (3/22)\, was one of our favorite shows of the year.  She’s touring to promote her latest release – Common Nation of Sorrow. \nIn contrast with her previous work\, Baiman is the sole producer of Common Nation of Sorrow\, which she recorded in her hometown of Nashville. She leans heavily into her bluegrass and old-time sensibilities on this new record. “In some ways\, this is a homecoming project for me”\, she says. “I wanted to explore these songs based on who and where I am right now\, with the town and the people who have raised me musically using the music from the place I’m singing about ”. \nRaised in Chicago\, Baiman made her way to Nashville at 18 with the dream of being a professional fiddle player and has since released two solo records and an EP\, alongside session and side-person work with Kacey Musgraves\, Kevin Morby\, and Molly Tuttle among many others.

SUMMARY:Terry Robb Trio
DESCRIPTION:What can we say about Terry.  He’s almost our artist-in-residence\, having played for us numerous times before.  But it never gets old.  Living Blues Magazine says Terry is “one of our finest acoustic guitarists today.”  Of course they’re right.  Blues Blast Magazine says Terry is “top of the heap of acoustic and electric pickets globally.  He is a force to be reckoned with.  Yep. \nBut this time – Terry is bringing s couple of sidekicks to lay down some sweet rhythmic background\, freeing him to explore and play around the fretboard even more.  And we can not wait. \n

SUMMARY:Luke Bulla
DESCRIPTION:Luke may be best known as the fiddle-shredding sidekick in Lyle Lovett’s Large Band.  But before that\, he was a six-time National Fiddle Champ at various age levels\, before becoming Grand Champ at age 16.  After moving to Nashville\, he spent time in Ricky Skagg’s Kentucky Thunder band\, which earned him his first Grammy.  He has played or recorded with a veritable Who’s Who of musicians – including Brandi Carlile\, Jim Lauderdale\, Darrell Scott\, Alison Krauss\, Jerry Douglas\, Sam Bush\, Edgar Meyer\, Bela Fleck\, Bryan Sutton\, Kevin Costner & Modern West\, Russ Barenberg Trio\, Shawn Colvin\, Tony Rice\, Chris Thile\, Peter Rowan\, Patty Griffin\, Glen Phillips\, Rodney Crowell\, and Earl Scruggs and Mark O’Connor. \nWe could go on…and on…but we don’t want to embarrass him before he even gets here.  Needless to say\, this solo show is one not to be missed.

SUMMARY:Ben Rice Band
DESCRIPTION:Ben Rice’s original music blends Soul\, Delta-Blues\, Rockabilly\, Jazz\, and Funk into a Roots Stew. Influenced heavily by his parents record collection\, from Al Green to Alice Cooper\, Teddy Pendergrass to Marshall Tucker. \nAs a performer Ben looks to the greats for inspiration and is always striving to connect with the audience through his music and stories. He also has an interesting arsenal of guitars playing resophonic guitars and homemade cigar box guitars. More important than the visual appeal Ben has an amazing way of making these guitars sound\, often bringing audiences to tears with his slide playing.

SUMMARY:We're Not Lost: The Last Ride of The Show Ponies (a documentary)
DESCRIPTION:This will be a special\, unique evening.  We hosted The Show Ponies four times over 3 years\, plus a few solo appearances by members of the band.  They were crowd favorites from the beginning.  And\, as all good things must come to an end\, so did the band.  This film was recorded throughout their last tour together and features some live footage\, as well as some behind the scenes moments. \nIn addition\, Clay Chaney (lead vocal and bass guitar) and Phillip Glenn (fiddler-playing madman) will be on hand\, performing some of their own music and hanging with the crowd. \nWe loved the band as much as everyone else\, so we’re pretty excited to be included in this short run of screenings.
